Jane Iredale has added a sheer tint with sunscreen to its range, and we now have it in Parnell. The full name is Glow Fixation SPF 30 Sheer Tint Skin Enhancer with Squalane and Niacinamide, which is a lot of words for a simple idea. Here is what it means in practice.
What it is
A light, weightless tint that gives a wash of colour, sheer coverage and a luminous finish rather than full coverage. The SPF 30 comes from non-nano zinc oxide at 22.75 percent, a mineral filter. Squalane is in there to keep skin comfortable, and niacinamide for a more even-looking complexion. It is not a full-coverage foundation. If you want to cover things, this is not the product. If you want to look like yourself on a good day, with sun protection built in, it is.
How to wear it
Jane Iredale's instruction is to apply it liberally and evenly over face and neck as the last step of your skincare, or under makeup as a luminous base. Two practical notes from us. Any sunscreen only protects at the amount you actually apply, so use it like a moisturiser, not like a dab of foundation. And if you are outside for a long stretch, reapply.
