A night routine for hands and lips with Jane Iredale's Well Rested kit

The Well Rested Nighttime Recovery Kit is the bedtime box in Jane Iredale's Comfort and Joy collection for 2026. Three things in it: a Restorative Hand Cream with Vitamin B Complex, 60ml, a Hydrating Lip Mask, 10ml, and a satin sleep mask. Jane Iredale's instructions for each are short, so we have put them together as a routine. It takes about two minutes and it happens after everything else is done.

Step one: hand cream, last thing

Jane Iredale's instruction is to massage a small amount into clean, dry hands until it is fully absorbed, at night or any time hands feel dry. The order matters more than the amount. Put it on after the dishes, the last hand wash and the phone, not before, or it ends up on all three. The cream has niacinamide, allantoin and cupuaçu butter, and the brand describes it as intensely hydrating for dry hands, and we would add hard-working ones. We rub whatever is left into the cuticles.

Step two: the lip mask, overnight

For night care, Jane Iredale says to apply a generous layer and leave it on overnight. It is a peptide-infused leave-on mask with shea butter and botanical oils, and the brand's description is that it softens lips and keeps them hydrated while you sleep. Generous means a visible layer, not a swipe, so it is the last thing you do before the light goes off.

The 15 minute version, before lip colour

The same mask doubles as a prep. Coat the lips, leave it on for 15 minutes, gently wipe away the excess and apply your lip colour. That is the brand's own instruction, and it is the one to use before a party when a lipstick or the Just Kissed lip oil is going on over the top. Jane Iredale also says it can be worn in the day like a balm or gloss, reapplied as needed.

Step three: the sleep mask

A plush satin mask, 100 percent polyester, with an elastic strap. Jane Iredale says it helps block out light and helps minimise sleep creases. It is the part of the kit that needs no instruction, which is partly why it gets used. Put it on after the lip mask, not before, unless you enjoy lip mask on satin.

Who it suits

Someone whose hands are in water all day, or who washes them forty times a shift. Someone who wears lip colour most days and wants a smoother base under it. Anyone who has said they will start a routine and then not started one, because this one is two steps and a mask. It is the right present for the person who never switches off.

It is hands and lips only. There is nothing in the box for the face, so if you are shopping for a full skincare routine this is not it. And if the person hates the feel of cream on their hands in bed, the lip mask and the sleep mask will get used and the hand cream will not.
