Jane Iredale Just Kissed pH Lip Oil Mini Trio box with the three minis in Blooming Peach, Blooming Berry and Blooming Pink

Jane Iredale's Just Kissed pH lip oil: what pH-activated means and how to wear it

The Just Kissed pH Lip Oil Mini Trio is the lip box in Jane Iredale's Comfort and Joy collection for 2026: three 2.25ml minis in Blooming Peach, Blooming Berry and Blooming Pink. The phrase Jane Iredale uses is pH-activated, which sounds like a laboratory and is actually quite simple. Here is what it means, what is in the oil, and how to wear it.

What pH-activated means

In Jane Iredale's words, the oil reacts to your skin chemistry and softly blooms into a custom tint. The instruction is one line: apply to bare lips and the colour will adapt to your unique pH. In practice it goes on as a glossy oil and the colour develops on the lips into a tint that is yours rather than the one in the tube. That is why the same mini can look a little different on two people, and why the brand calls it custom.

The three shades

Blooming Peach, Blooming Berry and Blooming Pink. In the tube, to our eye, Peach is the warm one, Berry is the deepest and Pink is the brightest. Because the tint adapts, take the names as a starting point rather than a promise. Swatches of all three are on our product page.

What is in it

Jane Iredale lists a blend of pomegranate, raspberry, jojoba and grape seed oils, which it says helps maintain hydration and comfort, plus pomegranate sterols to help support moisture and softness. The feel is described as cushiony and weightless, with a glossy shine and no tackiness. Vegan and wheat-free, as stated by Jane Iredale. The full ingredient list for each shade is on the brand's product page.

The applicator

Each mini has a flocked applicator that flexes to cushion the lips, with a slanted edge that hugs the natural contours, in Jane Iredale's words. There is no brush to clean and nothing to sharpen.

How to wear it

On bare lips, as the brand says. Apply to bare lips, give the colour a moment to come up, and reapply when you like. If you are using the Hydrating Lip Mask from the Well Rested kit as a prep, wipe the excess off first so the oil goes onto bare lips. Expect gloss. This is an oil, so a matte finish is not on offer, and if that is what you want, this is not the product.

Why a trio makes a good gift

Three shades in one box means one of them will be right, and the other two are not wasted: one for a different outfit, one to give away. The minis are 2.25ml each, which is the size that lives in a coat pocket or a clutch. And the box looks like you tried, which matters on the day.

Price

$93 for the three. It is a festive season set from the Comfort and Joy collection and we have a handful. See the Just Kissed trio, or see all three festive sets on our Holiday Collection page.
